Marianna Grossman is founder and managing partner of Minerva Ventures, a consultancy focused on solutions for a resilient future. Minerva Ventures advises companies, government agencies, and communities on climate risk, adaptation, and resilience, and guides clean tech startups in water, energy, circular materials, remediation, finance, and climate analytics.

Her current project is to build a Center for Resilience at her own home. She is building a high performance Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and transforming her garden to provide habitat for pollinators, fruit, vegetables, herbs and space for art and music. The ADU is designed to use net zero energy and to capture and store rainwater. Other resilience features include solar PV panels, EV charging, an advanced hydronic heating/cooling and domestic hot water system, a variety of insulation materials and concrete that is carbon neutral. Her goal is to use her ADU and garden as a center for learning about sustainable practices, to build neighborhood connections and to be a node, exchanging information and encouragement within a network of others working towards a regenerative future in her bioregion and beyond.

Before founding Minerva Ventures, she led Sustainable Silicon Valley for seven years, working to create a more resilient region. Before that she had corporate roles in the automotive, computer and semiconductor industries. She served on the 2016 California Climate Adaptation and Resilience Action Plan Technical Advisory Group for Governor Brown, and the Sustainability Committee of the SF Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee. She is Vice President of the board of Transportation Choices for Sustainable Communities. Other advisory roles include the Sustainable and Resilient Resources Roundtable; the ClimateMusic Project; and the advisory councils for climate action for the Cities of Palo Alto and Mountain View. She earned a BA cum laude, with distinction in Policy Studies from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Yale School of Management.
