Janine Summy is a wildfire and forest resilience professional based in Bend, Oregon, with nearly two decades of experience across fire management, emergency response, and public lands stewardship. Her work sits at the intersection of wildfire strategy, interagency coordination, and community-facing communication, often carried out in remote, forested environments under dynamic, high-stakes conditions.

Since 2023, Janine has served as Public Affairs Officer and Project Developer for the Klamath National Forest, where she develops communications and engagement strategies for forest management, wildfire response, and restoration initiatives, and delivers Community Wildfire Defense Grant trainings that translate technical fire policy into actionable guidance for communities. She played a key role in the Historic Wildfire Crisis Strategy for the Klamath River Basin, coordinating across five National Forests, multiple counties, and two states, and has supported wildfire mitigation and forest resilience efforts that secured over $10 million in funding.
